the calm after a storm
a very short reflection on emotional wounds
What remains after a deep wound? After the storms of a broken love pass, having left a catastrophe behind.
We let some mild winds clean the dust, let some rain wash away the dirt and soothe the burning cuts. And some sun to charge the soul, allow the feet to pick up their strength again to find their way back on the soil and to the trees. To the sea. One does feel left behind, but only if one genuinely chooses to be left behind by the passing storm. If we choose not to hold onto ourselves, to our own heart with all we have, then we won't allow ourselves to heal and transform.
What remains after the storm? Some healed scars, at times sizzling. Remembering the bits, but we shake that old ache up and continue walking. At times slowly or with pace.
What remains is a big heart with all the scars, we intuitively allow the heart to open its eyes wide to see the endless colours of the very present moment, holding on to each breath in and out.
